About Us
About Us.  TheBuzz Corp invested more than $5 million for extensive research and development and successfully launched the BuzzBox in 2007 to the Australian market that is rapidly utilizing this innovative and patented technology.  A research team at the prestigious institution - The Western Australian Telecommunications Institute (WATRI) - a joint venture with the University of Western Australia and Curtin University, was headed by Professors Kevin Fynn, John Siliquini and Tony Cantoni.  Their research objective was to find a way of channeling phone calls made from any landline over the internet.  Specifically, a way to reduce phone call costs by using internet based phone calls for everyone regardless of the need for a broadband internet connection.  Professor Tony Cantoni, an internationally renown researcher and engineer, became the mentor for the others as he set the culture for innovation and challenging the status quo.  Professor Kevin Fynn, also a highly qualified engineer, played a leading role in the research efforts leading to this technological breakthrough that allowed virtually any Australian home to access inexpensive, reliable phone calls and was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of TheBuzz Corp.

The Australian invention has shaken up the telecommunications industry.  Despite the broadband roll-out in many markets, the majority of phone calls are made through pre-existing landlines.  This massive infrastructure is now being leveraged in a highly effective way, allowing all Australians to lower their phone bills.
